Timing Belt

Recommended Posts

I am the owner of a Hyundai Sonata 2.0 CRDI model 2007 with a 50.000 miles mileage. I'm considering, if I should change the timing belt although Hyundai claims it should only be necessary to change it every 10 years or 100.000 miles. I am surprised that a rubber timing belt can last 10 years. Almost all other car manufacturers require timing belt renewal after 4 or maximum 5 years. Are Hyundai's timing belts different that most other timing belts???
