Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and joined because I have a loud scraping noise from the left, front wheel when I turn at low speed. It is usually on a left turn but not always. It's fine in a straight line and happens mainly when I put a lot of lock on. The wheel doesn't seem to have any play in it and it is not happening when I brake. It kind of cracks and scrapes and sounds altogether non too healthy. There is no rumbling noise suggesting a worn bearing. I would say it sounds like metal on metal. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? I'm going to take the wheel off at the weekend and have a look but thought I'd just try and get a heads up. Cheers for any help, Alan

Hi all, I have my i40 1.6CGI for 11 months now and have 15.500 km on the clock (9600 miles). So far I am satisfied with the car and no major issues are arise so far. One thing has been on the minus side and would like to ask all of you your experience about it, and that is the noise inside. I notice that at higher speeds, above 70 miles/hour the wind noise is not as low as I would wish for a car in this category. To be honest I only tried the Mazda 6 (new model) and Avensis (also latest one) and all 3 seemed the same when I tested them. But it was winter and winter tyres make a lot of noise and I guess the wind noise was not so clear back then. When I changed to summer tyres and got rid of rolling noise, then the wind noise become more visible. It's still better than my old Merc and most small/medium cars but not as good as premium brand unfortunately! What is your experience on this? Lately the noise in the boot every time I pass a bump or a road with irregular tarmac has become worse. Since the beginning I had some noise in the boot, which I though it was the loose plastic cover I have instead of the spare wheel. But lately has become more frequent and louder, which i started to suspect is due to (poor) assembly. I also started to notice some rattling coming somewhere from the passenger side, some plastic there is not properly mounted, but haven't found which yet! Regards, André
